A short film showing our travels to Chiang Mai during 30 October until 3 November 2020 during an unusual time.
While Thailand has done an incredible job with its public health control, it has caused international tourists to be essential non-existent. Cities like Chiang Mai, which has relied on tourism in the past, has been severely effected despite tourism campaigns to attract the domestic market.
For this trip, we spent 5 days and 4 nights exploring the city and heading to the hills to stay in a glamping (glamorous camping) resort. The city center was quiet except for the Loy Krathong festival which brought some much-needed vibrancy to the city. In the hills, the Mon Ing Dao Resort and nearby Mon Jam area were blanketed in beautiful fog and we experienced some nice, cool weather in what is supposed to be a humid, tropical country.
Hotels:
Duangtawan Hotel
Mon Ing Dao Resort
We traveled by our private car, a 2017 MG ZS with a total fuel cost of just 2,000 Baht.
All meals we ate were halal and from Muslim-owned restaurants.
