For the eTalk on FUTURE TOURISM: LET’S GET PHYSICAL we gathered five industry experts in the fields of tourism, hospitality and medical to discuss the potential for health and wellness related tourism in Thailand.

The panel comprised of:

Mark van Ogtrop, Beacon Sky Hospitality and Wellity Trend Watch

Due to technical issues from my side, Andrew Jacka, Chairman of Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition, was unable join the panel, but we will get him back for the next eTalk in May.

The panel discussed the change in consumer behaviour and trend for healthier holidays. The rise of medical tourism after lockdown. Trends in the Health & Wellness tourism related sector. The opportunity for Thai hotels to target domestic medical wellness tourism. Criteria for setting up a wellness centric project. The best approach by hotels when setting up a wellness clinic. The liability aspect of hotels offering wellness treatments. Wrapping up the one hour with the opportunity for Thailand from medical marijuana related tourism.
