"The Chaos" - a poem in English to challenge your pronunciation skills!

The poem "The Chaos" was written by Gerard Nolst Trenité about 100 years ago - but people still read it today because it includes so many examples of difficult English pronunciation.

First, I read the poem to you - though with breaks every couple of lines so that you can try as well.

Then, I look more closely at some of the words in the poem - what makes them difficult, and why are they like this in the first place?

So, is English pronunciation really that hard? Are there so many irregular spellings and sounds that it's impossible to learn them all? Watch this video to find out!
